In a recent court filing, Amado Angel has initiated legal action against Antojitos Mexicanos Deli II Corp and its principal, Roberto O. Bernasconi, alleging violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and New York Labor Law (NYLL). The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, claims that Angel was underpaid during his employment as a cook from August 2022 to November 2025. Despite working approximately 63 hours per week, Angel asserts he was paid below the minimum wage and denied overtime compensation. The complaint also highlights systemic issues within the company affecting other employees similarly situated. Angel seeks recovery of unpaid wages totaling at least $33,436.22, along with damages for wage notice violations and emotional distress caused by alleged exploitative practices.
