New York Attorney General Letitia James, along with a group of elected officials, has called for immediate and unrestricted humanitarian aid to enter Gaza. In a statement released by the coalition, they expressed their commitment to human dignity and justice, while condemning the October 7th massacre by Hamas.

The statement highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, describing it as a humanitarian catastrophe. “Gaza is in the grip of starvation,” they stated. The coalition emphasized the need for sustained diplomatic solutions to allow essential resources like food and medicine to reach those in need without being delayed or restricted.

They also urged for the safe return of all hostages and stressed that only diplomacy can resolve this crisis. “Only peace can end this cycle of devastation,” they declared.

The statement was endorsed by several U.S. Representatives including Jerrold Nadler, Pat Ryan, and Paul Tonko, as well as various New York City officials such as Comptroller Brad Lander and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.

Additionally, numerous state senators and assembly members from New York joined Attorney General James in supporting this call for action.
