The Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York announced it will close both of its locations on Monday, February 23, 2026, because of severe weather conditions.

Despite the physical closures, court operations will continue remotely. Remote proceedings are set to proceed as scheduled and the Electronic Case Filing (ECF) system will remain accessible. Clerk’s Office staff will also be available to assist parties through remote means.

Individuals who need to file documents with the court are advised to consult Local Bankruptcy Rule 5001-2 for guidance on submitting papers outside regular hours.

Court closures due to inclement weather are not uncommon and can impact case schedules, but electronic systems and remote work help maintain continuity in judicial processes.
