A Buffalo man has been sentenced to prison for fentanyl-related offenses. Alexis Perez, Jr., 22, received a 40-month prison sentence after being convicted of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. The sentencing was handed down by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.
U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced the outcome on Wednesday. According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Donna Duncan, law enforcement officers stopped Perez’s vehicle on November 6, 2024, and executed a search warrant during the stop, seizing a shotgun and ammunition.
Following the traffic stop, investigators searched Perez’s residence on Cambridge Avenue. There they recovered 28 grams of fentanyl, 89 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl and cocaine, and 24 grams of cocaine.
The investigation involved the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), led by Special Agent-in-Charge Farhana Islam of the New York Enforcement Division, as well as the Cheektowaga Police Department under Chief Brian Coons.
“This sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Cheektowaga Police Department,” said U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo.
