U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo has announced the sentencing of Nicholas Gaskin, 37, a resident of Buffalo and Jamestown, New York. Gaskin was convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and received a 41-month prison sentence from U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti, who managed the case, reported that in March 2022, Jamestown Police officers conducted a vehicle stop where Gaskin was a passenger. He was arrested due to an active warrant. During the arrest, officers found approximately 12 grams of crack cocaine and $1,766 in cash on him. A subsequent search of Gaskin’s residence in Jamestown led to the discovery of a semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, $158 in cash, suboxone pills and strips, six grams of suspected drugs, and drug paraphernalia. The investigation further involved four controlled purchases of cocaine from Gaskin.

The case’s resolution stems from collaborative efforts by the Jamestown Police Department, led by Chief Timothy Jackson, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia.
