A federal judge has ruled in favor of New York Attorney General Letitia James and struck down a presidential directive from the Trump administration that suspended all federal approvals for wind energy projects. The decision comes after Attorney General James, along with 17 other attorneys general, filed a lawsuit in May to challenge the directive.
Attorney General James released a statement following the court’s ruling: “As New Yorkers face rising energy costs, we need more energy sources, not fewer. Wind energy is good for our environment, our economy, and our communities. I am grateful the court stepped in to block the administration’s reckless and unlawful crusade against clean energy.”
The U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts granted summary judgment to the coalition led by James, declaring the presidential order illegal and vacating it.
