U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced the arrest of Gerald T. Przybylski, 78, from Hamburg, NY. He faces charges of transmitting threats to a member of Congress via the internet. The charge carries a potential penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles M. Kruly is handling the case. According to the complaint, Przybylski sent an email on June 13, 2025, to a U.S. House Representative’s office account containing threatening language: “You are obviously unaware of the movement to execute Trump and all his Republican sycophants…” The email also warned: “You should be afraid for your life!!!” Przybylski admitted during an interview with law enforcement that he might have intended to scare the recipient.

Przybylski appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer and was released under specific conditions.

The investigation involved multiple agencies including the Erie County Sheriff’s Office led by Sheriff John Garcia, the United States Secret Service with Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Charles Perras, the FBI with Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Mark Grimm, and the United States Capitol Police under Chief Michael Sullivan.

It is important to note that charges are merely accusations at this stage and Przybylski is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
