U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Jose Manuel Ramos-Godoy, a 42-year-old Honduran citizen, pleaded guilty to illegal re-entry before U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. Ramos-Godoy received a three-month federal prison sentence.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Fauzia K. Mattingly stated that Ramos-Godoy lacks legal status in the United States and was previously removed from the country in July 2006 and September 2014 following an order of removal. On May 13, 2025, he was found driving a vehicle in a hotel parking lot in Amherst, NY, without any documents permitting his lawful presence in the United States.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, which aims to address illegal immigration and combat cartels and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime.

The investigation leading to the plea and sentencing was conducted by the U.S. Border Patrol under the direction of Patrol Agent in Charge Martin B. Coombs.
