In a recent court filing, Igor Abramov has initiated legal action against his former employer, Capula Investment Management LLP and Capula Investment US LP, alleging wrongful termination in retaliation for whistleblowing activities. Abramov, who served as the U.S. Chief Compliance Officer and Head of U.S. Compliance and Legal at Capula, claims he was dismissed after raising concerns about regulatory compliance issues. These included undisclosed expenses charged to investors and improper trading practices that violated federal laws. The complaint highlights a pattern of intimidation by Capula’s management aimed at preventing Abramov from fulfilling his compliance duties. The case is filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, with Abramov seeking redress under New York Labor Law § 740.

Abramov’s lawsuit underscores significant allegations against Capula, including mismanagement of investor funds through inappropriate expense allocations and cross-trading activities designed to benefit portfolio managers over investors. Despite attempts to address these issues internally, Abramov faced resistance and threats from senior management before ultimately being terminated on July 10, 2025.

The plaintiff is represented by The Ottinger Firm, P.C., with Robert W. Ottinger, Olivia Davis, and Allison Marculitis serving as counsel.
