A Jamestown resident, Matthew White, 43, has been arrested and charged with communicating interstate threats. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo. If convicted, White could face a maximum penalty of five years in prison.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Evan K. Glaberson is handling the case. According to the complaint, on April 30, 2025, Homeland Security Investigations in Buffalo identified an “X” account allegedly operated by White that publicly posted threats against federal immigration agents and Department of Homeland Security administrators.

White voluntarily met with investigators on June 4, 2025, allowing them to extract and copy his phone’s contents. Investigators found several threatening posts on “X.” On April 18, 2025, one post stated: “Kill them all, ICE is the new age gestapo, stop them.” Another post from April 29 shared a video clip of Border Czar Tom Homan and included a comment threatening ICE agents if they did not show proof of identity and a signed warrant.

In late April 2025, White reportedly made multiple violent public comments responding to media coverage of ICE arrest operations. This included a threat related to an ICE operation inside a Virginia courthouse: “I can’t wait to put a bullet into this guy’s brain, but first his children.”

White appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and was released under certain conditions.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations under Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan’s direction.

It is important to note that being charged with a crime is merely an accusation; White is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
