A Jamestown woman has been sentenced for her involvement in a drug conspiracy case, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo. Holly Berenguer, 43, received a sentence of time served and four years of supervised release from U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara after being convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, 40 grams or more of fentanyl.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti stated that on September 5, 2021, Berenguer was arrested by a Jamestown Police Officer due to an active bench warrant for failing to appear in Jamestown City Court. During processing, law enforcement found a white powdery substance and $450 hidden in her clothes. Field tests confirmed the substances were heroin and methamphetamine.

According to authorities, between September 2020 and September 2021, Berenguer distributed significant amounts of heroin and fentanyl in the Jamestown area as part of the conspiracy.

This prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. The OCDETF program focuses on identifying and dismantling major criminal organizations through coordinated efforts involving multiple agencies led by prosecutors using intelligence-driven strategies.
