In a recent court filing, Laura Aiello has initiated a class action lawsuit against Cohen Fashion Optical, LLC, alleging negligence and breach of contract following a significant data breach. The lawsuit claims that the company failed to adequately protect sensitive personal and health information, resulting in the exfiltration of 350GB of data by the ransomware group Sinobi. The compromised data reportedly includes names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, and medical information. Despite being aware of the breach since October 28, 2025, Cohen Fashion Optical has not yet publicly disclosed the incident or notified affected individuals. The plaintiff seeks damages for financial losses and increased risk of identity theft due to the company’s alleged failure to implement proper security measures.
