In a striking legal battle that underscores the plight of underpaid workers, Edison Brea Dominguez has filed a lawsuit against Ribevy Realty Co., LLC and Gerald Liebman, alleging significant wage violations. The complaint was filed on November 25, 2025, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Dominguez accuses his former employers of failing to pay him the minimum wage and overtime during his two-decade tenure as a building superintendent.

Edison Brea Dominguez claims that from 2001 until May 6, 2024, he worked as a building superintendent at an apartment complex owned by Ribevy Realty Co., LLC in Yonkers, New York. Despite his long service, Dominguez alleges he was paid only $295.20 per month—approximately $68 per week—far below both federal and state minimum wage standards. “Defendants failed to pay Plaintiff the minimum wage for all hours he worked,” states the complaint, which argues this violates both the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and New York Labor Law (NYLL). Additionally, Dominguez asserts that he incurred unreimbursed business expenses such as mileage and cell phone use while performing duties beyond basic maintenance tasks.

The lawsuit further details how Gerald Liebman, who is described as having substantial control over Ribevy’s operations, allegedly directed Dominguez’s day-to-day activities without providing proper compensation or adhering to labor laws. The complaint highlights how Dominguez often worked around 20 hours weekly on janitorial duties alone but was also expected to be on call for emergencies without receiving overtime pay. Furthermore, it alleges record-keeping failures by the defendants that obscured accurate tracking of hours worked and wages paid.

Dominguez seeks several forms of relief from the court: unpaid wages under FLSA and NYLL provisions; liquidated damages; interest; compensation for improvements made to his living quarters within the building; attorney fees; and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court. His legal team argues that these violations were willful and not based on good faith compliance with labor laws.

Represented by AndersonDodson P.C., with Penn A. Dodson leading as counsel, Edison Brea Dominguez is pursuing justice against Ribevy Realty Co., LLC and Gerald Liebman for alleged labor law infractions. The case is being overseen by judges in the Southern District of New York under Case No. 7:25-cv-09782.
