Gregory J. Coco, a business owner from Rochester, has admitted to filing a false tax return, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo. The guilty plea was entered before U.S. District Judge Meredith A. Vacca. The charge could result in a maximum sentence of three years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas M. Testani is managing the case and revealed that Coco owns Century Asphalt Maintenance, a driveway sealing company based in Rochester. Between 2017 and 2022, Coco received payments totaling $2,611,685.57 for services provided by his company but did not report all of this income to his tax preparer. This led to an underreporting of $1,704,556.57 in income and a failure to pay $456,683 to the Internal Revenue Service.
The investigation leading to Coco’s plea was conducted by the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations Division under the leadership of Special Agent in Charge Harry Chavis.
Coco’s sentencing is set for October 7, 2025, with Judge Vacca presiding over the proceedings.
