Jonathan Woody, a 31-year-old resident of Rochester, New York, has pleaded guilty to charges of coercion and enticement of a minor. The plea was entered before U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa, as announced by U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo. This charge could result in a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison, with the possibility of life imprisonment and a fine up to $250,000.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. Rossi provided details on the case, stating that in January 2024, Woody engaged in sexually explicit communications online and via text with a 13-year-old child he met through social media. On January 2, 2024, Woody arranged for an Uber to transport the child to a hotel in Greece, New York, where he had rented a room. During their time at the hotel, Woody supplied alcohol and marijuana to the child and engaged in sexual acts.

The situation came to light when the child’s family reported them missing after discovering their absence from home. Following the child’s return home, law enforcement was informed about Woody’s interactions with the minor. This led to an investigation that ultimately identified and resulted in Woody’s arrest.

The investigation was conducted by multiple agencies including the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Todd Baxter’s direction, the Greece Police Department led by Chief Michael Wood, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation Task Force overseen by Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Mark Grimm.

Woody is scheduled for sentencing on October 30, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., before Judge Siragusa.
