A Granville, New York man has pleaded guilty to transporting child pornography, according to an announcement by Acting United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III and FBI Special Agent in Charge Craig L. Tremaroli.

Thomas P. Allen, Sr., 44, admitted that between February 2016 and November 2018, as well as in December 2019, he used the internet to upload images of child pornography to his Google Drive account. He also received similar images on his cell phone.

“Thomas P. Allen’s deliberate and calculated use of the internet to transport and possess child pornography is a violation of the law and the innocence of children. My office will not allow anyone who engages in such sickening conduct to evade justice. This case should serve as a warning to all who would exploit children: we will pursue you relentlessly, and we will ensure you face the full force of the law,” said Acting U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Craig L. Tremaroli stated: “This plea ensures Mr. Allen will spend time in federal prison for his despicable actions. The FBI will continue to aggressively seek out and investigate those who prey on our most vulnerable, especially predators who possess child pornography.”

Sentencing for Allen is set for January 22, 2026 before United States District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and up to twenty years in prison, along with a possible $250,000 fine and supervised release ranging from five years to life. Allen must also pay restitution to victims, forfeit property used during the offense, and register as a sex offender upon release.

The investigation was led by the FBI with support from the New York State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney A.J. Vickey is prosecuting the case under Project Safe Childhood.

Project Safe Childhood is a national program aimed at combating child sexual exploitation by coordinating federal, state, and local efforts to find offenders who exploit children online and rescue victims (https://www.justice.gov/psc).
