WDNY to host virtual CLE on ethical use of generative AI in legal briefs

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York announced on April 2 that it will host a virtual Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program on May 13, 2026, focused on the ethical use of generative artificial intelligence when preparing legal briefs.

The event is organized in partnership with the Northern District of New York Federal Court Bar Association and aims to guide legal professionals on best practices for using new technology while adhering to ethical standards.

Michael G. Langan, Esq., Career Law Clerk to Hon. Glenn T. Suddaby, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of New York, will be featured during the session. The program will address how lawyers can responsibly integrate generative AI tools into their workflow without compromising professional obligations.
